The psychology behind why children are hooked on Minecraft


Minecraft, with over 300 million copies sold since 2009, captivates children through its digital building capabilities. Associate Professor Julian Togelius explains that "In Minecraft world, creating [something] is direct and simple," making it accessible when computers might otherwise hinder building impulses. Togelius's research found Minecraft players are "substantially more curious and less driven by traits such as vengeance" than the general population.
